One of my favorite things to do is train other therapists.

My graduate program didn’t spend much time teaching us about eating disorders, which is extremely unfortunate because so many of our clients are engaging in disordered eating patterns. And what I did learn in grad school was highly weight-centric and heavily influenced by diet culture. Because of this, I had to piece together my own education, experience, and supervision. And I’d love to save you the time, energy, and money of having to do the same.

I offer a variety of trainings and workshops throughout the year on various topics related to disordered eating. My training programs are always a mix of didactic instruction, small and large group discussion, and experiential exercises. I offer smaller, two-hour workshops as well as full-day programs to suit the needs of all participants. And I’m in the process of making some of my workshops available as self-paced courses for those folx who would like to take their time with the material.

While the topics of the trainings vary, I generally discuss Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Intuitive Eating (IE) in every training. These two models are at the heart of all of the work I do with my clients. Honestly, I can’t even remember how to talk about disordered eating without talking about parts (IFS), so it’s always a part of my trainings. And IE provides a useful skillset that layers nicely on top of parts work.
